Since its creation in 1999, MMB has partnered with Yorkshire Water on a wide variety of projects, including restoring and upgrading reservoirs, installing advanced technology for clean drinking water, and treating sewerage to protect rivers. With multiple frameworks in place and ongoing delivery into AMP8, the team of over 300 people remains busy for years to come.
As an Ecologist, you will work on projects that positively impact the environment and communities by enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of water and wastewater treatment systems. Your role will involve engaging in all phases of project life cycles, from initial design to implementation, allowing you to influence scheme design, promote best practices, and embrace advancements in delivering Net Benefits to Biodiversity. You will collaborate with clients to develop biodiversity strategies and work on a diverse range of projects and tasks designed to challenge and develop your full potential.
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, working alongside ecologists of varying experience levels as well as environmental and engineering colleagues, either on-site or in the office. This collaboration will deepen your understanding of the consultancy and construction business. You will also use and promote integrated solutions and innovative technology, ensuring quality and helping build a sustainable environmental business.
Experience
- Knowledge, understanding, and experience applying relevant guidance for ecological surveys
- Report writing experience
- Knowledge of assessing and implementing biodiversity net gain
- Protected species licence or working towards one
About you
- Degree in Ecology or a directly related subject
- Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your operational region
- Enthusiastic about working on environmental projects that make a real difference
- Collaborative team player comfortable working both on-site and in office environments
