38 hours per week, Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 3:36 pm, plus standby rota payments and overtime opportunities available after completion of essential company training
Salary
Up to £42,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience, plus company van, tools, and PPE provided
About the Role
We are recruiting an experienced Electrical Technician to join our Maintenance team within the Wastewater Division. You will use your electrical knowledge and experience to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify, or repair mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment safely, efficiently, and with minimal supervision. Your work ensures our sites remain operational, helping to reduce pollution and positively impact the environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Prioritising health, safety, and well-being of yourself, colleagues, contractors, and visitors by complying with Health and Safety regulations and Thames Water guidelines
- Undertaking reactive and planned maintenance, responding to alarms, fault finding, fixing issues or escalating as necessary
- Installing new plant and equipment in line with current standards and regulations
- Recording work and asset information to improve business performance and identifying potential risks for resolution
- Providing specialist technical advice and coaching, including supporting the apprenticeship programme
- Delivering excellent customer service by interacting professionally and respectfully with internal and external customers
Experience
Time-served apprentice with significant experience in electrical systems or holding NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Engineering
About you
- Holds 18th Edition wiring regulations qualification
- Strong problem solver able to identify and resolve or escalate issues
- Excellent communicator providing technical expertise to staff and contractors
- Resilient and adaptable to working under pressure in a changing environment
- Able to work independently using own initiative to design and meet standards
- Knowledgeable of Health and Safety issues relevant to the industry
- Team player who respects others, provides constructive feedback, and supports development
- Holds a full UK driving licence
