About the Role
In this role, you’ll ensure everything we deliver is ready for real-world operation by embedding operational requirements from the very start of the project lifecycle. Working closely with Capital Delivery teams while being embedded in Operations, you’ll bridge project delivery and operational excellence—driving compliance, resilience, efficiency, and performance. From day one, you’ll represent Operations to ensure solutions are practical, sustainable, and ready for day-to-day use.
- Work on behalf of Operations managing expectations to solution delivery, ensuring maintenance requirements are considered as part of the core design through feedback and challenge.
- Engage at a local level to understand site performance and restrictions, flagging risks to delivery.
- Manage and facilitate meetings, workshops, and progress reviews, including site access requests.
- Support decisions around temporary arrangements and understand critical information regarding temporary solutions.
- Monitor projects from an operational perspective, liaising with all relevant internal and external parties.
- Collaborate with system planning to identify gaps between investment plans and operational requirements.
- Work closely with Operational site teams to encourage synergies that deliver project success. The role requires presence on site as needed to ensure ownership of related activities and reduce impact on front-line teams.

Benefits
- 26 days holiday per year, increasing to 30 with length of service (plus bank holidays)
- Performance-related pay plan linked to company performance measures and targets
- Generous Pension Scheme through AON
- Access to a wide range of benefits supporting health, wellbeing, and finances including annual health MOTs, physiotherapy, counselling, Cycle to Work schemes, shopping vouchers, and life assurance
- Flexible working arrangements and meaningful career opportunities
- Inclusive and supportive working environment committed to diversity

Requirements

Experience
- Demonstrable delivery of projects meeting commercial, technical, and operational objectives, including system optimisation.
- Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and influence multiple high-level and external stakeholders while delivering to tight deadlines.
- Knowledge and understanding of catchment and area implications on site performance to inform decision making.
- Awareness of legislative frameworks relating to future requirements impacting delivery.
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety systems, processes, and procedures.
- Full UK Driving Licence required.
- Previous experience in an engineering solutions environment is desirable.
- Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience within water or similar utilities industry is desirable.

About you
- Self-starting, resilient, and tenacious with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Strong team player who can work collaboratively with operational site teams and other stakeholders.
- Committed to embedding operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Qualifications
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred but not essential if matched by relevant skills and experience.
- Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
