About the Role
Murphy is recruiting an Environmental Advisor to work with the Energy team on the GGP at Glaslyn (PTNO) Porthmadog. Our business is renowned for extensive in-house expertise, experience, and a continuous drive to innovate within the industry to create added value for all customers. We support groundbreaking transmission and distribution projects across four countries, ensuring energy security for decades to come. Our services include design, construction, and commissioning, delivering Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) projects for both regulated and private customers, alongside technical and engineering solutions within conventional power and energy transition markets.
As an Environmental Advisor at Murphy, you will establish and promote best practices in environmental and sustainability matters in conjunction with the SHES function. You will carry out regular site inspections to ensure compliance with Company Policy, Procedures, and relevant statutory provisions. Incident investigations will be conducted in line with company procedures, analysing data and making recommendations to prevent reoccurrences.
You will collate environmental and sustainability statistics for business and contract reporting, review SHES information to identify trends and areas for improvement, and develop and implement SHES campaigns and improvement plans in agreement with SHES Management. Advising and supporting project teams on managing their environmental and sustainability responsibilities will be a key part of your role.
Additional responsibilities include identifying significant SHES issues, ensuring appropriate controls are in place, obtaining necessary consents, permits or exemptions, and maintaining records to ensure compliance with legislation, company procedures, and contract requirements. You will work within a small team of environmental specialists and liaise with third-party environment and ecology consultants, sharing best practices within the growing E&S function.
