About the Role
Murphy is recruiting an Environmental Advisor to work with the Energy team at St Fergus Gas Terminal - MCPD. Our business is renowned for extensive in-house expertise, experience, and a continuous drive to innovate within the industry to create added value for our customers. We support groundbreaking transmission and distribution projects across four countries, ensuring energy security for decades to come. Our services include design, construction, commissioning, and delivery of Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) projects for both regulated and private customers, alongside technical and engineering solutions within conventional power and energy transition markets.
As an Environmental Advisor at Murphy, you will establish and promote best practices in environmental and sustainability matters in conjunction with the SHES function. You will carry out regular site inspections to ensure compliance with Company Policy, Procedures, and relevant statutory provisions. Incident investigations will be conducted in line with company procedures, analysing data and recommending measures to prevent recurrence.
You will collate environmental and sustainability statistics for business and contracts, submitting these to SHES Management for reporting. Reviewing SHES information to identify trends and areas for improvement will be part of your role, alongside developing and implementing SHES campaigns and improvement plans.
You will advise and support project teams in managing their environmental and sustainability responsibilities, providing guidance to all project personnel. Identifying significant SHES issues and setting up appropriate controls for projects will be essential. You will ensure all necessary SHES consents, permits, or exemptions are obtained and maintain records to ensure compliance with legislation, company procedures, and contract requirements.
Working within a small team of environmental specialists, you will liaise with third-party environment and ecology consultants and share best practices with the growing Environment & Sustainability function.
