About the Role
Murphy is recruiting an Environmental Advisor to work within the Energy sector on the Electricity Transmission Project. Our business is renowned for extensive in-house expertise, experience, and a continuous drive to innovate, creating added value for our customers. We support groundbreaking transmission and distribution projects across four countries, ensuring energy security for decades to come. Our services include design, construction, and commissioning, delivering Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) projects for both regulated and private customers, alongside technical and engineering solutions in conventional power and energy transition markets.

As an Environmental Advisor, you will establish and promote best practices in environmental and sustainability matters in conjunction with the SHES function. Your responsibilities will include carrying out regular site inspections to ensure compliance with Company Policy, Procedures, and relevant statutory provisions, conducting incident investigations, collating environmental and sustainability statistics, and reviewing environmental information to identify trends and areas for improvement.

You will develop and implement environment and sustainability campaigns and improvement plans, advise and support project teams in managing their environmental responsibilities, and provide assistance to all project personnel. You will identify significant environmental issues and ensure appropriate controls are in place, manage consents, permits, or exemptions, and maintain records to ensure compliance with legislation, company procedures, and contract requirements.

This role involves working within a small team of environmental specialists and liaising with third-party environment and ecology consultants, sharing best practices within an expanding Environment & Sustainability function.
