About the Role
Fuse Energy is a forward-thinking renewable energy startup on a mission to deliver a terawatt of renewable energy, fast. Combining first-principles thinking with cutting-edge technology, we build a radically better energy system. Having raised over $210M from top-tier investors, we are building a fully integrated energy company—from developing solar, wind and battery projects to real-time power trading and distributed energy installations. By selling directly to consumers, we cut out the middleman, lower costs and pass savings on to customers.

As a Finance Intern, you will do real work from day one alongside a team with experience from top banks, funds, and startups. This is not a back-office finance role; you will work closely with the business, contributing across operations, deals, and everything in between to help build and run the company as it scales. You will gain rare ownership and exposure, with a real opportunity to prove yourself and earn a full-time position.

The internship offers two tracks: Business Operations or Corporate Finance. Both tracks share core responsibilities including invoice reconciliation and cost optimisation—reconciling invoices against contracts, resolving discrepancies, and identifying cost savings and operational improvements.

Business Operations Track
This track focuses on the technical core of finance: building automations, scripts, and internal tools that reduce manual work in treasury, accounting, and reporting. You will implement AI solutions to accelerate reconciliation, reporting, and analysis, and develop clean, largely self-running reporting pipelines for actuals, P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow. You will also help establish the data and systems backbone supporting tax, audit, and compliance.

Corporate Finance Track
This track is closer to deals and capital, supporting live financings across project, corporate, and trading debt through modelling, analysis, and process work. You will assist with acquisitions end to end, from market research and modelling to diligence support and data-room coordination. You will engage in high-visibility special projects requiring fast answers, build and stress-test financial models behind transactions and new commercial opportunities, and support partnership negotiations with financial analysis.

Requirements

Experience
Penultimate or final-year student, or recent graduate, in engineering, maths, or another STEM discipline. Prior internship experience in banking, investing, consulting, accounting, or a startup finance team is a bonus.

About you
Very strong first principles thinking. Comfortable working in a fast, ambiguous, high-intensity environment. Analytical, structured, proactive, and takes ownership to chase tasks to completion. Genuine interest in the chosen track—operations and process or deals and financing.

For the Corporate Finance track, exposure to M&A, financing, or strategy is advantageous.
For the Business Operations track, coding skills and experience with process automation are a plus.

Qualifications
Strong financial modelling and Excel skills are required.
