About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Fleet Workshop Manager to join our team in Haringey. As Workshop Manager, you will lead the workshop operations and development within the Haringey contract, ensuring high quality, customer-focused support is delivered to agreed performance standards.
Your responsibilities will include ensuring all Health and Safety requirements are met in line with company policies, including auditing, supervision, and control of subcontractors working internally on or off site. You will ensure DVSA compliance standards are maintained at all times and in line with company policy.
You will be responsible for the scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs of the internal customer's fleet of approximately 150 vehicles and plant throughout their economic lifetime, ensuring agreed levels of vehicle resources are available to all customers. Providing KPI data to operational and transport managers or appointed transport associates within the Veolia network will also be part of your role.
Managing technician performance, productivity, quality control, appraisals for all workshop staff including administration and stores will be under your remit. You will manage an effective procurement and supplier management process for vehicle parts and external repairs, delivering an efficient and cost-effective fleet solution. Additionally, you will be responsible for the financial performance across both workshops to the agreed budgets and provide support at other Veolia locations when required.
Experience
- Experience in managing workshops, preferably within the waste industry
- Experience with managing difficult and challenging situations within the workplace
About you
- Good communication and negotiating skills
- In-depth knowledge of a wide range of vehicles and applications
- Robust knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- IT skills and experience with electronic diagnostic systems
Qualifications
- City & Guilds, HNC or ONC in vehicle maintenance (essential)
- HGV Licence (advantageous)
- CPC in Road Transport Management or willingness to work towards it
