About the Role
We are recruiting for an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor to support the safe and compliant delivery of multiple retrofit and decarbonisation projects across the South East.
In this role, you will champion a positive safety culture, provide expert HSE guidance, and ensure compliance across a variety of residential energy-efficiency projects. You’ll work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to maintain the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote a proactive safety culture across all site operations
- Carry out site inspections, audits and deliver toolbox talks
- Provide practical HSE advice to project teams and subcontractors
- Support incident investigations and drive corrective actions
- Monitor and report HSE performance to management
- Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations and environmental legislation
- Lead on RAMS, safe systems of work and ensure responsibilities are clearly understood
- Maintain, review and update HSE policies, procedures and documentation
- Ensure statutory training, reporting and welfare compliance
- Manage PPE stock and ordering
- Conduct safety inspections, fire alarm tests and manage lone working procedures
- Deliver internal HSE training and keep training records up to date
- Liaise with internal teams, clients, and regulatory bodies
Requirements
Essential:
- NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate
- Experience in a construction-based HSE role (ideally within retrofit, housing, or property projects)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the South East
Desirable:
- Tech IOSH (or working towards) / GradIOSH / CMIOSH
- Understanding of retrofit and decarbonisation standards and processes
