Hours
Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. Daily working hours will be agreed with the employer and may vary depending on workshop shift patterns.

Salary
£22,048 per year. Salary will increase throughout the apprenticeship in line with performance, progression and company pay review processes.

About the Role
This apprenticeship is the Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Service & Maintenance Technician programme with Veolia in Croydon. Working alongside experienced technicians, you will gain hands-on experience inspecting, servicing and repairing HGVs to DVSA standards while developing the skills needed for a career in heavy vehicle maintenance. Most of your apprenticeship will be spent working on the job, gaining practical experience across mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems on heavy vehicles over 3.5 tonnes, mainly refuse collection vehicles.

You will carry out inspections and maintenance in line with manufacturer (OEM) recommendations, assist with diagnosing faults across various vehicle systems, support experienced technicians with maintenance and repair activities, and ensure job cards and maintenance paperwork are completed accurately and in line with legal requirements.

Experience

Qualifications
Desirable qualifications include GCSEs in English and Maths at grade 4/C or Functional Skills Level 2. However, the apprenticeship can be tailored to reflect any relevant qualifications or industry experience you already have.
