£45,015.99 per annum (£21.64 per hour) plus the following allowances:
£0.50 per hour HGV licence bonus
8.33% average overtime rate holiday pay
Overtime rate x1.25

Bank Holiday working with a day in lieu
Standby payment of £16 per night for being on call
Callout payment of £30 if called out to repair a vehicle
Sign-on and retention bonus of £3,000
Refer a Technician bonus of £1,000
About the Role
Are you a skilled technician with a passion for vehicle maintenance and a commitment to high standards? We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented HGV Technician to join Veolia. In this hands-on role, you will maintain and repair refuse collection vehicles to the highest standards, ensuring safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction. No two days are the same as you work with multiple types of vehicles within our fleet.
Key responsibilities include diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on chassis and mounted equipment, servicing vehicles to VOSA standards, preparing them for MOT inspections, completing body and chassis repairs, and ensuring compliance with Department of Transport specifications. You will maintain accurate records, complete necessary paperwork and timesheets, and diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic vehicle systems. You will also complete roadside repairs when necessary (training provided) and undertake ongoing training to enhance your technical skills and knowledge.

Experience
Proven experience in commercial vehicle repair and servicing. Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills. Experience with electronics, hydraulics, and wiring diagrams is essential.
About you
Detail-oriented and proactive with excellent communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements. Willingness to travel and work flexible hours including overtime.
Qualifications
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance required. IRTEC qualification or HGV Class 2 licence is a bonus.
