About the Role
SLR is a global leader in sustainability solutions, working with clients to help make sustainability happen within a collaborative, people-first culture. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Project Hydrogeologist to join our established Hydrogeology & Water team, delivering high-profile water environment and hydrogeological assessment projects. The role will focus primarily on hydrogeological site investigation, water monitoring and hydrogeological assessment work, with additional exposure to groundwater abstraction licensing, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) water chapters, and a small amount of wider environmental and earth science work spanning minerals, waste management, renewables, property and infrastructure sectors. This position suits an early careers candidate with some commercial experience. You will support and lead the technical delivery of a wide range of hydrogeology projects from planning through to reporting, working closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

The role includes site works such as site walkover surveys, supervising borehole drilling, geological logging, well installation, hydrogeological testing, and groundwater/surface water level and quality monitoring programmes. You will interpret hydrogeological data and prepare geological and hydrogeological Conceptual Site Models. You will assist with hydrogeological assessments including Hydrogeological Risk Assessments and Hydrogeological Impact Appraisals, involving analysis of monitoring data, hydrogeological calculations, groundwater modelling and reporting. You will also contribute to the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) water chapters.

You will collaborate with colleagues across Environmental & Earth Sciences, Planning, ESIA and Engineering, along with Global Advisory, on complex and impactful projects, with opportunities for European and international exposure.

SLR’s ‘One Team’ culture provides a collaborative and supportive environment for professional development. Through a structured career framework, regular performance reviews, and full support toward chartership, professional qualifications and licenses, outstanding opportunities for long-term career progression are offered.

Our Flexible Benefits & Reward Package includes company pension, private medical insurance, life, income and travel insurance, salary sacrifice car lease and cycle-to-work schemes. We believe sustainable careers need balance, offering flexible, hybrid and agile working, 25 days’ annual leave plus flexible public holidays, buy or sell leave options, core working hours, cross-border remote working and sabbatical opportunities.

Family life and wellbeing matter at SLR. We provide enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption leave, access to an Employee Assistance Programme, and specialist support for mental health, stress and menopause, supporting our people both professionally and personally.
