About the Role
SLR Consulting Limited is a global leader in environmental and advisory solutions, supporting clients to achieve their sustainability goals. Our Mining Group has experienced significant commercial success worldwide and continues to expand. We are seeking a Technical Director with extensive experience in tailings and mine waste to join our growing European team.

In this role, you will manage your own projects and support others in delivering mine waste projects across multiple technical disciplines. You will work alongside highly skilled professionals in a multi-disciplinary team to deliver complex projects, applying your expertise from conceptual design through to detailed design and construction of tailings and waste rock facilities.

Key responsibilities include acting as Engineer of Record for tailings facilities, leading business development efforts within Mine Waste Engineering, recruiting and mentoring key talent, collaborating with global teams, and enhancing SLR’s profile through networking, technical publications, and conference presentations. Experience
- Extensive experience and specialisation in tailings and mine waste, preferably in a consulting environment
- Proven track record leading multi-disciplinary teams as lead designer and project manager on tailings and mine waste projects from concept to detailed design
- Experience acting as Engineer of Record and Designer of Record
- Experience in independent auditing and dam safety reviews
- Good working knowledge of mining industry standards such as GISTM, ANCOLD, CDA
- Strong commercial and business development skills
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and report writing skills

Qualifications
- Honours degree in Civil or Mining Engineering, or MSc in a related subject
- Registered Chartered Engineer or equivalent Professional Engineer status, or eligible for immediate registration
