About the Role
Optimal Power Networks (OPN) is SSE’s Independent Distribution Network Operator, owning and operating local electricity distribution networks serving new commercial and mixed-use developments including EV charging hubs, business parks and data centres. As Network Operations Manager, you will support the Head of Operations in the safe, efficient and compliant management of OPN’s electricity distribution system. Your responsibilities will include overseeing maintenance, inspections, defects, faults and reactive works. You will manage an Operations function primarily delivered through sub-contracted partners and Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Key duties include monitoring network performance, identifying risks and implementing mitigations, ensuring delivery of planned inspection and maintenance regimes, safely managing fault response across the HV and LV system with customer-focused decision making and timely communication, leading SLA performance reviews and driving continuous improvement, and supporting the adoption of new networks into OPN.

Experience
- Strong people leadership and contractor management experience
- Understanding of supplier performance management
- Technical and operational experience in electricity distribution

- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, licence obligations and IDNO operations

Qualifications
HNC in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or equivalent
