About the Role
A new opportunity has arisen for a System Planning and Investment Engineer to join our Portfolio Management Team. The team acts as custodian of the 132kV, 33kV, 11kV and LV Primary and distribution network and is responsible for the planning, development and investment in SSEN’s distribution networks in the South of England. Responsibilities include investment management to meet growth in renewable generation and new demand, and identifying project solutions to improve network health and performance.

In this role, you will manage the CAPEX investment programme, ensuring the electricity network remains fully compliant with technical and regulatory licence requirements. You will work closely with other teams within SSEN and contribute to the planning and development of distribution networks in line with licence obligations and industry regulator objectives set by Price Control Reviews.

You will also gain experience working with external industry bodies such as OFGEM, the UK Transmission Operator National Grid, and Renewable Developers.

Experience
- Experience working on DNO Primary and/or Distribution networks.
- Proven experience with 132 kV and above is required to obtain the higher salary.
- Strong analytical skills with proven experience using MS Office.
- Desirable experience with SINCAL, PSSE, Enmac (Power On) or similar systems.

Qualifications
- HNC in Electrical Engineering is required, although a degree qualification is preferred.
