About the Role
Reporting to the Principal Scientist - Inorganic Chemistry, you will be an integral part of the Inorganic Chemistry team that ensures delivery of operational excellence whilst maintaining continual compliance with ISO17025 and Drinking Water Testing Specifications (DWTS) standards. This is an 18-month fixed term contract offering a dynamic and challenging role within a friendly and supportive working environment.
Main duties include analysis of water samples through manual and some instrumental testing, performing daily laboratory quality system checks, involvement in consumables stock control and replenishment, cleaning and maintaining laboratory equipment, laboratory housekeeping, and sample preparation. You will also participate in internal and external training courses to support your continued development and maintain basic CPD records to comply with the minimum requirements of a competent analyst 1-9. Compliance with all relevant Health and Safety procedures is essential. You will be actively involved in driving innovation and process improvements within the laboratory.
Experience
Good standard of education with a minimum of GCSE or equivalent in Mathematics, English, and Science. Experience working in a routine environment with attention to detail is preferred.
About you
You must be able to follow strict procedures consistently without deviation and have a positive attitude towards health, safety, and environmental protection. A reasonable level of computer literacy and good written communication skills are essential.
Qualifications
Minimum GCSE or equivalent in Mathematics, English, and Science.
