The Opportunity
We are recruiting for a Labourer to work on a busy construction site in Southwark.
This role is ideal for someone who is physically fit, safety-conscious, and willing to work longer hours to maximise earnings. You will be supporting site teams and helping maintain a safe and productive working environment.
Please note: This role is open to Southwark residents only who are currently out of work.
Key Responsibilities
- Support site teams with general labouring duties
- Move materials and equipment safely across site
- Maintain clean and organised work areas
- Follow all site health & safety procedures, including working at height where required
- Assist supervisors and respond to instructions efficiently
- Contribute to keeping work progressing on site
What We’re Looking For
- Reliable and committed with a strong work ethic
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Comfortable with physically demanding work
- Able to work outdoors in all conditions
- Previous construction or labouring experience preferred
- Essential Requirements
- Valid CSCS Green Labourer Card
- Must be a Southwark resident
- Must be currently unemployed
- Good understanding of construction site health & safety
Physically fit and able to undertake manual labouring duties
Mandatory Certifications (must be accredited and verifiable)
Working at Height
Must hold a valid, externally accredited certificate. Acceptable qualifications include:
- PASMA (mobile access towers)
- IPAF (powered access / MEWPs)
- Accredited Working at Height training (recognised training provider)
Ladder Safety and/or Harness Training (only if externally accredited)
Note:
- In-house or site-based training is not accepted
- Certificates must be available for verification before the start
Manual Handling
Must hold a valid, externally accredited certificate, issued by a recognised training provider (e.g. CITB-aligned or IOSH-recognised).
Important note:
- Certificate must show completion date and provider details
- In-house training is not accepted
Desirable Certifications
(Not essential but advantageous)
- Asbestos Awareness
- Face Fit Testing
- Basic Health & Safety (Level 1 or equivalent)
- Competitive hourly rate (£14.80 per hour)
