Role Overview
We are seeking a driven and knowledgeable Sales Representative to support the growth of our retrofit and energy efficiency business. This role focuses on generating new business, managing client relationships, and guiding customers through retrofit solutions that improve building performance, reduce energy costs, and ensure regulatory compliance.
You will work closely with surveyors, project managers, and technical teams to deliver tailored retrofit solutions for residential and light commercial properties.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
· Identify and develop new sales opportunities within the retrofit, energy efficiency, and building improvement sectors
· Build and maintain strong relationships with homeowners, landlords, housing associations, and commercial clients
· Conduct site visits, client meetings, and virtual consultations to understand customer needs
· Generate and follow up on qualified leads through networking, referrals, and inbound enquiries
· Meet or exceed agreed sales targets and KPIs
Retrofit & Technical Engagement
· Promote retrofit measures such as insulation, heat pumps, ventilation, solar PV, and fabric upgrades
· Explain retrofit concepts clearly, including whole‑house retrofit, PAS 2035 principles, and funding options where applicable
· Work collaboratively with Retrofit Coordinators, designers, and installers to ensure solutions are deliverable and compliant
· Assist clients through the sales journey from initial enquiry to contract signing
Proposals & Contracts
· Prepare and present quotations, proposals, and scopes of work
· Accurately capture customer requirements and hand over to delivery teams
· Negotiate terms while maintaining margin and customer satisfaction
· Ensure all sales documentation is complete and compliant with company procedures
Market & Customer Insight
- Keep up to date with retrofit standards, grants, and industry developments
· Provide market feedback to management on customer trends and competitor activity
· Represent the company professionally at events, exhibitions, and industry forums
Essential
· Proven experience in sales, ideally within construction, retrofit, energy efficiency, or building services
· Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
· Ability to explain technical concepts in a clear, customer‑friendly manner
· Target‑driven mindset with a structured approach to sales pipelines
· Full UK driving licence
· Confident using CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools
Desirable
· Knowledge of retrofit measures and standards (e.g. PAS 2035, EPCs, ECO, SHDF)
· Experience selling into housing associations, local authorities, or private landlords
· Background in sustainability, renewables, or low‑carbon technologies
· Understanding of grant-funded or compliance-led projects
· Competitive basic salary with (Plus OTE)
