About the Role
The Marketing and Communications Officer is a key role within Forestry England’s North District. Working as part of a dedicated team, you will help bring our work to life by promoting and enhancing the district’s image, increasing its visibility, and encouraging people to visit the nation’s forests. You will be a custodian of our visual and written content and a proud champion of the diverse range of work that happens in our district.

Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Manager, you will support the delivery of the Marketing and Communications strategy for North District. Your role will involve promoting Forestry England’s work by telling the story of the nation’s forests and the benefits they provide for climate, nature, people, and the economy.

You will create engaging and dynamic content to support and promote activities across the district, including those that directly deliver Forestry England’s national strategy such as recreation, ecology, forestry, and heritage, as well as critical enabling functions like civil engineering, fundraising, projects, and estate management. You will also promote North District as a leading provider of outdoor recreation activities, supporting teams to achieve their business plan objectives.

Experience
Experience in marketing, communications, or a related field is desirable. Proven ability to create engaging content and promote organisational objectives effectively is important.

You are a passionate and enthusiastic communicator with a strong interest in forestry, environment, and outdoor recreation. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. You are motivated to promote the benefits of forests for climate, nature, people, and the economy.

Qualifications
Relevant qualifications in marketing, communications, or a related discipline are advantageous but not essential. Commitment to continual professional development and career growth is supported.
