About the Role
As an MBT Supervisor, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable day-to-day operation of the Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT) facility, which treats 87,500 tonnes of Municipal Solid Waste per year. Reporting to the MBT Operations Manager, you will ensure the facility operates within environmental permit requirements, managing incoming waste stocks as well as outgoing fuel and recyclates.
You will supervise a team of 5, deliver high-quality reports, maintain health and safety standards, and investigate any safety concerns. You will review daily facility performance, liaise with the Operations Manager and Maintenance team to suggest improvements that increase availability, quality, and efficiency.
Additional responsibilities include monitoring the air treatment system to comply with odour conditions, managing staff absences and sickness, scheduling team rotas, ordering consumables and PPE within budget, and supporting central teams with recycling sales and site innovation projects.
You will assist with monthly KPI reporting, maintain accurate daily performance records, oversee daily output sampling and quality improvements, and ensure effective communication between operation and cleaning shifts. You will actively monitor and report factors affecting recycling rates, mass loss targets, and fuel quality, while keeping all safety, operational, and HR records up to date.

Experience
- Proven team leadership experience required
- Minimum 2 years experience in a Team Leader or leadership role (desired)
- Prior experience within an operational environment (desired)
