About the Role
We are looking for a Network Service Technician to join Thames Water until March 2027, with the possibility of becoming permanent. Thames Water is the UK’s largest water and wastewater company, supplying 2.6 billion litres of water daily through 32,000 km of pipes to 15 million customers. This is an exciting and varied customer-facing role where you will resolve customer network challenges to ensure minimal disruption to supply. You will support a variety of projects, ensuring the best service is delivered to our customers.
Key responsibilities include taking personal ownership of customer queries and complaints, responding to and resolving issues at customer homes or workplaces, working with contractors on planned and unplanned work, investigating clean water networks to resolve issues such as high or low pressure, leakage, metering queries, and loss of supply. You will support the operation of the mains network by controlling burst mains, ensuring isolation for planned work, emergency repairs, and maintenance. Additional duties include valve operations, water sampling, valve checks, and planning.
All work will be carried out in compliance with company procedures, including Business Operating Plans, Health & Safety, and Streetworks legislation.
Experience
A full UK driving licence is essential as travel between sites is required; a company van will be provided. Basic knowledge of domestic plumbing or water mains/leakage is desirable but not essential.
About you
You will have excellent customer service and communication skills, an enthusiastic, can-do attitude, and confidence in completing hands-on tasks independently to the best of your ability. Strong IT skills are also important.
Qualifications
No specific qualifications are required for this role, but relevant experience and a positive attitude are highly valued.
