About the Role
Operational Technology (OT) refers to the digital assets at the core of Anglian Water's industrial operations, enabling remote monitoring and control of water collection, treatment, and distribution processes across the region.
As an OT Field Engineer, you will focus on the maintenance, repair, and commissioning of OT hardware, systems, and networks critical for real-time monitoring and control of operational plant and processes across the Water and Water Recycling estate.
You will collaborate with operational teams to provide technical support in diagnosing instrumentation and control issues, helping to mitigate non-compliance and process continuity risks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Diagnostics, repair, and replacement of OT field hardware including telemetry outstations, I/O modules, power supplies, PLCs, HMIs, Industrial Control Systems, modems, routers, and switches
- Undertake minor modifications to process automation and control systems to support regulatory compliance and process continuity
- Perform preventive maintenance on OT hardware, systems, and networks
- Conduct firmware and software upgrades/patching to maintain security and compliance
- Support operational teams during planned maintenance to ensure OT assets are safely shut down and brought back online
- Carry out site surveys, installation, and commissioning of OT hardware, systems, and networks
- Perform minor PLC modifications and telemetry IO wiring changes for new instrumentation and plant
- Provide on-site technical support to OT framework partners for service integration of new or modified OT assets
- Conduct post-installation quality assurance audits to ensure adherence to defined standards
