About the Role
The UK water sector is entering a period of unprecedented investment and transformation. Egis is rapidly expanding its Water Business in the UK and is building a high-performing Process Engineering team to help shape this next chapter. As a Principal Process Engineer, you will play a meaningful role in delivering major water and wastewater programmes across the UK municipal and industrial sectors. Working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, you will contribute to technically robust, sustainable, and innovative treatment solutions on nationally significant projects. This is a rare opportunity to join at a key stage of Egis’ UK growth journey, helping to establish, shape, and expand a process engineering capability built on global infrastructure expertise and a long-term commitment to the sector.

Key Responsibilities
Lead process design delivery on multidisciplinary water/wastewater treatment projects across the full design lifecycle. Act as process technical lead on projects, owning design strategy, treatment process selection, key decisions, interfaces, risks, and quality of deliverables. Review and approve process calculations, mass balances, PFDs, P&IDs, basis of design reports, specifications, technical notes, models, and supplier/contractor submissions. Lead process modelling and simulation activities using tools such as BioWin, SUMO, Dynamizu or equivalent packages. Drive optioneering, process capacity assessments, value engineering, design reviews, HAZOP/SWIFT, commissioning strategy, and performance testing input. Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including Mechanical, EICA, civil/structural, architectural, MEP, construction, commissioning, and operations. Promote lean and digitally enabled delivery through standardised tools, process models, automation, data analysis, and reusable templates. Provide technical assurance and support project managers with technical risk, scope, resourcing, programme, and change control. Mentor and manage engineers, supporting recruitment, development, and chartership progression. Contribute to bids, client engagement, opportunity shaping, and growth of the process capability.
