About the Role
Join AECOM’s UK Water team as an experienced Geomorphologist and River Restoration Project Lead. You will be responsible for high-quality project delivery, including planning, managing, modelling, and designing sustainable geomorphology and river restoration schemes. Our projects span nationally and internationally, working with regulators, governments, water companies, river and wildlife trusts, estate managers, and developers across various industries. Key projects include re-meandering design and construction supervision for rivers designated as SSSI and SAC, nature recovery and wetland restoration, landscape-scale river restoration and natural flood management, weir removals and fish passes, river basin scale restoration planning, and geomorphological management plans including landslide and flood hazard analysis.
You will bring technical excellence in geomorphology, hydromorphology, river engineering, detailed design, contractor supervision, CDM regulations, hydraulic and sediment transport modelling, and multi-discipline team coordination. You will also provide coaching to peers and junior team members, liaise closely with clients, and actively contribute to client contact and commercial aspects of projects. Health, safety, and environmental considerations underpin all work. Join a specialist geomorphology team of 15 professionals working across surface water, groundwater, estuaries, lakes, and marine environments.
Enjoy career development opportunities, flexible hybrid working, technical practice networks, AECOM University, volunteering days, and a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well-being and future growth.
