About the Role
Due to project requirements, the position of Project Manager has become available to join our Cadent contract based in Marks Tey, Colchester. You will lead a group of engineering teams to develop and deliver the Mains Replacement Programme, ensuring all works are delivered to the highest standards of safety, compliance, customer excellence, and commercial control. You will maximise the customer experience service ensuring Cadent’s customer commitments are met and customer initiatives are always a high priority. Collaborate and coordinate with stakeholders to maintain the reputation of the client and parent organisations.

Key responsibilities include consistently demonstrating, promoting, and developing high standards of safety behaviour by leading by example; developing a programme of work to ensure projects are issued, monitored, and delivered on time and within budget in accordance with legislative, regulatory, Cadent technical standards, policies, and procedures; acting as competent person for Flow Stopping and Commissioning Operations in line with Cadent Safe Control of Operations, Main Laying and Service Laying Procedures; managing supply chain performance to deliver key contract objectives; advocating for the contract with senior representatives from local authorities; managing engineering teams to optimise operational activities and deliver key business objectives; ensuring the highest standards of customer service and safety through audits and inspections and addressing areas for improvement; supporting the Area Manager in identifying and leading improvement initiatives; maximising staff engagement through team talks, addressing staff issues, identifying development needs, and delivering toolbox talks, safety briefings, and team briefs; investigating and resolving customer queries, claims, and complaints professionally and expediently; undertaking or assisting with incident reporting, investigations, and remedial actions; undertaking or working towards Temporary Works Supervisor duties; continually monitoring operative performance and fostering a culture of zero tolerance for safety and compliance breaches; carrying out standby and call out duties as required; and performing any other reasonable duties appropriate for the role.

Requirements

Experience
Previous gas supervisory experience is beneficial but not essential. Site management experience is required. Experience in delivering works safely and compliantly and knowledge of operations relevant to SCO procedures is advantageous. Good written and verbal communication skills are essential.

About you
You must be able to lead a team, influence and drive performance, and demonstrate high standards of safety and customer behaviour by leading by example and promoting safety and customer culture. Analytical and problem-solving skills are important. You must hold a current UK driving licence.

Qualifications
Qualifications required for the role (development will be provided to attain these) include:
- Competent Person for routine operations (SCO5)
- Authorising Engineer for permit to work for excavations (SCO2)
- Temporary Works Appointed Person (Temporary Work Supervisor – BS5975)
- NRSWA Supervisor
- SHEA Gas Deep Excavation qualification
- Working at Height appreciation
- UMSTS / SMSTS
