About the Role
Mott MacDonald is a global engineering, management, and development consultancy with over 20,000 employees across more than 50 countries and 140+ offices. We deliver impactful work across diverse industries, driving societal benefits and sustainable futures. As a Senior Environmental Consultant, you will collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team including engineers, town planners, and environmental and social specialists. You will lead and coordinate projects from early feasibility and environmental appraisal through to full Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for planning applications across various regimes.
Your responsibilities will include supporting project teams, undertaking scoping, preparing and delivering environmental appraisals and assessments, programming EIA processes, managing environmental risks, and coordinating environmental, social, and sustainability specialists. You will prepare and lead the production of environmental and sustainability deliverables, navigating client, stakeholder, regulator, and government agency requirements.
You will assist decision-making processes and integrate sustainability into design, shaping place-based solutions that help clients achieve net zero carbon commitments, deliver nature-based solutions, and enhance climate resilience. Engagement with a diverse range of public and private sector clients and stakeholders will be part of your role, including public consultations, stakeholder workshops, public inquiries, and industry events.
There will be opportunities to take on line management duties, supporting less experienced staff with workload management, technical development, and wellbeing.
