About the Role
We are looking for a Graduate Environmental Specialist to join our environmental team and support the delivery of live water and wastewater projects. Working within a multidisciplinary design and construction team, you will help identify and manage environmental risks throughout the project lifecycle, from early design through construction to completion. You will be automatically enrolled into our bespoke Early Careers Development Programme; a 12-month scheme designed to enhance your skills, expand your network, and enrich your experience.
Key responsibilities include helping to identify environmental risks throughout the project lifecycle, supporting project teams to develop practical environmental mitigation measures considering compliance, safety, cost, programme and social impacts, and planning and coordinating specialist environmental inputs such as ecology, heritage and archaeology to ensure activities are completed at the right time and to the required standard. You will work alongside other specialists to assist with environmental deliverables including environmental management plans, permit and consent applications, and associated technical reports. Collaboration with design and construction teams, clients, regulators and other stakeholders to support positive environmental outcomes is essential.
Here, you’ll build a career with purpose—on projects that make a real difference. You’ll be part of a team that invests in your future and offers a comprehensive benefits package to support your wellbeing inside and outside the workplace.
Experience
A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or a directly related subject. A basic understanding of environmental disciplines and project risks, such as ecology, archaeology, drainage, contaminated land, landscape and noise. Awareness of the planning process and the role of environmental surveys, permits and consents in supporting construction activities.
About you
Strong written and verbal communication skills, good organisation and attention to detail, and a collaborative, proactive approach to problem solving.
Qualifications
A relevant degree as stated above. Enthusiasm for environmental management and a commitment to professional development through the Early Careers Development Programme and beyond.
