About the Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Flood Risk Consultant to join our thriving Water Environment team. You will lead hydrological and hydraulic modelling on a diverse range of projects, mentor and develop other consultants, and manage varied and challenging assignments. Your role includes developing strong relationships with clients and regulators, overseeing project finances, preparing fee proposals, and contributing to business development and strategic growth of the Water & Environment Team in the region. You will work within a design office environment as well as attend design and site meetings, conduct site inspections, and provide detailed progress reports. Effective communication and liaison with clients, architects, contractors, and regulatory/statutory authorities are essential to ensure project success. Your technical expertise will be applied to hydrological and hydraulic modelling and comprehensive Flood Risk Assessments. You will also be involved in bid preparation and research to support business expansion.
Experience
Significant consultancy or industry experience as a senior modeller with expertise in flood risk assessments in line with the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) and, where applicable, Technical Advice Note 15 (TAN 15). Proven experience using hydrological and hydraulic modelling software such as Flood Modeler Pro or TUFLOW. Strong understanding of the operational frameworks of the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, and Lead Local Flood Authorities. Experience in business development, project financial management, and client relationship management is highly desirable.

Qualifications
A strong Bachelor's degree in a water-related discipline is essential, ideally complemented by a higher degree. Up-to-date knowledge of current planning policies and procedures relevant to flood risk and water environment consultancy.
