About the Role
At WSP, you will have the opportunity to work on landmark projects, collaborate with leading experts, and contribute to meaningful flood forecasting initiatives. We are expanding our UK flood forecasting capacity within the Sustainable Water Management team to meet growing client demand. This role offers a chance to deliver and grow our national flood forecasting programme, working alongside hydraulic modellers and hydrologists on a variety of real-time flood modelling projects.

Your responsibilities will include providing technical delivery and leadership for flood forecast modelling and hydrology studies, developing Flood Modeller based flood forecast models (routing and hydrodynamic), preparing hydrology boundaries (PDM), performance testing, and rating reviews. You will undertake quality assurance and independent technical reviews of flood forecasting reports and products, produce high-quality client- and public-facing deliverables, and communicate complex data effectively.

You will collaborate with the wider fluvial and pluvial modelling leadership team to develop flood forecasting services, mentor junior colleagues, support and lead bid proposals, and provide project, commercial, and financial management. Client and stakeholder liaison will be a key part of your role, alongside promoting a 'safety first' culture aligned with WSP's health and safety policies. While primarily UK based, you will also work collaboratively with global teams within WSP.

Your Team
Our national fluvial and pluvial modelling team delivers flood modelling to support flood warning improvements, FCERM studies, and strategic infrastructure projects across sectors including energy, transport, government, and water. As an experienced flood forecast modeller, you will provide technical oversight, promote high-quality flood forecasting services, support innovation, contribute to tenders, and strengthen client relationships. We offer a dynamic and supportive environment for motivated professionals to thrive and develop their careers.
