About the Role

As a Service Coordinator, you will ensure that Quality, Health, Safety and Environment remain the top priority within the transport operation, providing a safe workplace for all employees. Your daily responsibilities will include managing service delivery through dynamic planning of work to vehicles and routes, proactively communicating with customers, maintaining contact with drivers throughout the day, and conducting debriefs.

You will ensure service excellence by managing delivery, recovery (next working day), and communication of non-service or missed lifts within company parameters. Supporting the Service Manager, you will help identify routing efficiencies and capacity, control container stock levels, and maintain communication with customers and drivers.

Additionally, you will assist with people management processes and procedures in line with company policies, deliver Toolbox Talks to drivers and operatives, and conduct first stage formal investigations into accidents and incidents as directed. Compliance with all Operator Licence obligations and managing day-to-day activities of drivers, including performance, compliance, and leave entitlements, will be key aspects of your role.

You will work closely with the Service Manager to deliver depot KPIs and ensure all safety concerns and near misses are logged on Ecoonline, closed within agreed timescales, and quality feedback is provided to originators.

Experience
Educated to O-level standard or equivalent experience, with excellent communication skills and good IT literacy.

Qualifications
CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) holder - desirable.
IOSH (Institute of Occupational Safety and Health) qualification - desirable but can be obtained during the role.
Driving licence and own vehicle required.
