Role Overview

We are a fast-growing organisation operating in the UK energy efficiency and retrofit sector. Our mission is to improve the energy performance of homes through high-quality installation of insulation and renewable technologies. Working across residential properties, we support government-backed retrofit programmes and private homeowners seeking to reduce energy bills and carbon emissions. A Solar Electrician is a qualified electrical professional specialising in the installation, wiring, commissioning and maintenance of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. This role is central to the safe and effective delivery of residential solar installations, ensuring systems meet electrical regulations, perform efficiently, and provide long‑term reliability for homeowners. Solar Electricians combine traditional electrical expertise with specialist renewable‑energy knowledge, working closely with installation teams, project managers and compliance frameworks to support the UK’s transition toward clean energy.

Solar Electricians ensure that all electrical components—from PV modules and inverters to AC/DC wiring—are installed and tested in accordance with the latest standards. They also diagnose system issues, perform inspections, maintain documentation and provide technical support to colleagues and clients. As demand for solar and low‑carbon technologies increases, the Solar Electrician plays a crucial role in ensuring installations are safe, compliant, and optimised for performance.

Salary Range: £35,000-45,000 per year

Key Responsibilities

• Install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on residential properties

• Carry out electrical wiring, testing and commissioning

• Ensure installations meet electrical safety regulations

• Perform inspections and troubleshoot system issues

• Work with installation teams and project managers

• Maintain documentation and certification records

• Qualified electrician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)

• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification

• Experience installing solar PV systems preferred

• ECS or CSCS card

• Strong commitment to safety and quality

• Full UK driving licence
