About the Role
Murphy is recruiting for a Stakeholder & Governance Manager to work with the Energy Team on the SSE ASTI Framework. Our business is well-known for its extensive in-house expertise, experience, and continuous drive to innovate within the industry to create added value for all our customers. We support groundbreaking transmission and distribution projects in four countries, ensuring energy security for decades to come. We deliver Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) projects serving both regulated and private customers along with technical and engineering solutions within the conventional power and energy transition markets.

As a Stakeholder & Governance Manager at Murphy, you will be accountable for the successful delivery of the Stakeholder & Governance function, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, programme objectives, budgetary controls, and Murphy standards. You will set the standard for stakeholder engagement, governance, and communication across the framework.

Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing stakeholder, social value, communications, and sustainability strategies that support project and business objectives. You will identify risks, issues, and opportunities, ensuring they are managed proactively and resolved in a controlled and timely manner. You will ensure stakeholder and governance activities are aligned with project programmes, key milestones, and delivery objectives.

You will provide leadership and line management to the Social Value, Stakeholder Engagement, Communications, and Sustainability teams. Building and maintaining effective client, community, and stakeholder relationships, fostering collaboration and trust throughout the project lifecycle will be key. You will ensure appropriate governance arrangements, engagement plans, and reporting structures are in place to support successful framework delivery.

Driving alignment between project teams, clients, regulators, and external stakeholders to facilitate efficient decision-making and project progression will be essential. You will resolve day-to-day operational challenges, escalating business-critical issues to the Operations Manager where required.

Experience managing stakeholder engagement within regulated infrastructure, utilities, energy, construction, or major-project environments.

About you
Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-management skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all organisational levels. Strong leadership capabilities to manage and inspire teams across Social Value, Stakeholder Engagement, Communications, and Sustainability functions.
