About the Role

As a Sweeper, you will be responsible for the manual sweeping of streets and other areas including footways, alleys, subways, and around street furniture. You will ensure all Gully Grids are clear of obstructions and that sweepings are not pushed down the grids. Your duties will include emptying litter bins, replacing liners, collecting sweeper bags from designated points, and utilising onboard technology to record task completion and report any issues in real time. You will also report graffiti, fly posting, or damage to litter bins and waste containers to your Team Leader or Manager. Additionally, you will check your vehicle for roadworthiness, complete necessary forms, and operate Veolia vehicles after receiving appropriate training. Maintaining a courteous and professional relationship with the public, clients, staff, and colleagues is essential to this role.

Experience
Basic understanding of Health & Safety is essential. Previous experience working within waste management is desirable but not required.

Qualifications
No formal qualifications are required for this role, but relevant training will be provided. A willingness to learn and adhere to safety standards is essential.
