This Traffic Operator Apprentice role offers hands on experience within a live construction environment, working alongside experienced logistics and transport professionals while completing a Level 2 Apprenticeship.
Section 106 Eligibility
This role is funded through a Southwark Section 106 planning obligation and is only open to applicants who are residents of the London Borough of Southwark.
What You’ll Do
• Coordinate the movement of goods and deliveries to and from construction sites and waste facilities
• Support the Logistics Manager and Transport Manager with day to day fleet operations
• Liaise with drivers, hauliers and contractors to ensure deliveries arrive on time
• Assist with vehicle routing and delivery planning, including multi drop routes
• Respond to delivery queries and provide up to date information to internal and external teams
• Carry out driver debriefs to help ensure safe and efficient operations
• Ensure transport schedules comply with Drivers’ Hours regulations and Working Time rules
• Maintain accurate records using traffic management systems and IT platforms
• Support route planning around road closures, weather conditions and site constraints
• Help coordinate vehicle maintenance, inspections and compliance checks
What We’re Looking For
• Resident of the London Borough of Southwark
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Comfortable using IT systems and digital platforms
• Interest in logistics, transport or construction operations
• Ability to work in a busy, fast paced environment
• Willingness to learn and complete a Level 2 Apprenticeship
This is an office based role located on a live construction project. You will work closely with site logistics teams and transport providers.
