About the Role
Murphy is recruiting an Assistant Bid Manager to join our Work Winning Proposals Team. Our business is renowned for extensive in-house expertise, experience, and a continuous drive to innovate within the industry to create added value for all our customers. We support groundbreaking transmission and distribution projects across four countries, delivering Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) projects for both regulated and private customers within conventional power and energy transition markets.
In this role, with support from the Bid Manager, you will take the lead on managing your own tenders up to £50m across electricity infrastructure and Natural Resources sectors. Your responsibilities will include managing day-to-day organisation and delivery of smaller-to-medium infrastructure bids, covering power infrastructure such as substations and cables, as well as Natural Resources projects including gas AGIs, pipeline diversions, hydrogen, and CO2 initiatives.
You will monitor procurement websites daily for new project notices, pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs), and expressions of interest in the energy and gas sectors. Handling client questions by logging and tracking official communications, drafting standard bid text related to company history, health and safety records, compliance standards, and environmental policies will be key tasks.
Additionally, you will organise and maintain the central bid library with up-to-date project photos, case studies, staff CVs, and successful past answers. You will coordinate progress meetings, document action points, and ensure timely completion of contributions from engineering and estimating teams. Gathering supplier information such as safety certificates, insurance details, and confidentiality agreements, reviewing final tender packs for completeness, and polishing documents for professional presentation before final upload on client portals are essential duties.
This role offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic and innovative environment, contributing to high-value bids that support energy security and infrastructure development.
