About the Role
Murphy is recruiting for a Buyer to work with the Energy team on Murphy OHL Diversions and New Build projects. Our business is renowned for extensive in-house expertise, experience, and a continuous drive to innovate within the industry to create added value for all our customers. We support groundbreaking transmission and distribution projects across four countries, ensuring energy security for decades to come. Our services include design, construction, and commissioning, delivering Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) projects for both regulated and private customers, alongside technical and engineering solutions within conventional power and energy transition markets.

As a Murphy Buyer, you will ensure contract arrangements and package details are comprehensive and protect the business in dealings with suppliers and sub-contractors. You will monitor supply chain performance, workload, and financial status to safeguard the corporate position, maintain supplier evaluation forms and risk assessments, and manage work package procurement.

You will deliver a consistent procurement approach across all projects within the region from work winning/pre-construction stage, ensuring procurement recommendations and negotiations demonstrate best overall value for money rather than focusing solely on lowest price. You will monitor the marketplace for pricing trends, risks, and opportunities, continuously seek and assess new supply chain members to meet regional project demand, and support the development of the supply chain, products, and innovations that bring cost or buildability benefits.

Building and maintaining strong relationships with the strategic supply chain, internal clients, and project teams is essential to encourage inclusive interaction, mutual respect, and teamwork. You will also attend regional supply chain events as required to promote Murphy and foster collaboration.

Good working knowledge of contracts.

About you
Must be able to travel and comfortable visiting sites. Strong negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships internally and externally. Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and as part of a team. Committed to continuous improvement and innovation within procurement practices.
