About the Role
Are you a Civil Engineer with experience in the infrastructure sector? Do you have a passion for delivering sustainable projects that have a lasting impact on our communities? Join Stantec as an experienced Civil Engineer based in Gloucester. You will deliver multi-disciplinary civil engineering design projects throughout their entire lifecycle – from feasibility, concept and planning submission through to construction details and site inspections. Our projects are varied and often require collaboration with multiple discipline experts across the business. You will work closely with clients and contractors to influence infrastructure and development schemes, delivering projects with the opportunity to lead, develop and support more junior team members.

As a key member of our Infrastructure team, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting a principal engineer in preparing drainage strategies, calculations and SuDs reports for planning
- Preparing plans and drawings at all stages of the development cycle (concept through to construction) as part of the buildings team
- Designing earthworks, pavement and drainage and preparing associated specifications
- Ensuring high quality delivery in design through QA checks
- Liaising with Local Authorities and other stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals
- Collaborating with clients, third party bodies and multi-disciplinary teams on all relevant project aspects
- Assisting during the construction stage, including site queries and inspections
- Opportunity to grow the team and mentor junior engineers

Experience
- Proven experience delivering commercially successful civil engineering projects in the infrastructure sector
- Strong client engagement skills with the ability to influence
- Experience collaborating with multi-disciplinary project delivery teams
- Preferably experience coaching and managing junior engineers
- Experience in drainage design, roads, car parks, cut & fill, earthworks, pavement design and SuDs
- Knowledge of Microdrainage and AutoCAD
- Experience with PDS and/or Civil 3D is an advantage

About you
- Degree qualified civil engineer, ideally working towards becoming chartered
- Excellent communication skills
- Motivated to lead and mentor junior team members
- Able to liaise effectively with clients, local authorities and third party stakeholders

Qualifications
- Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Working towards professional chartership (e.g. CEng) preferred but not essential
