We are seeking an experienced Clean Water Process Engineer (Principal to Associate Director level) to join our Water Engineering teams. You will work within multidisciplinary project design teams delivering process engineering design content on a variety of challenging water and water reuse projects across the UK and overseas. Your responsibilities will span feasibility and optioneering through to detailed design for procurement and construction, including reviewing supplier proposals.

Key responsibilities include:
- Producing process design deliverables such as optioneering studies, process calculations, mass balances, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, sketches, and basis of design reports to achieve optimal project solutions.
- Undertaking outline or detailed process engineering design.
- Conducting site visits for data acquisition and liaising with site operators.
- Providing technical input to procurement processes.
- Supporting Project Managers in technical client discussions.
- Liaising with technology providers and vendors.
- Participating in HAZOP, HAZID, ENVID, and SWIFT reviews.
- Providing technical guidance, coaching, and supervision to junior staff.
- Collaborating with other disciplines to ensure integration of process engineering design within overall project delivery.
- Contributing to proposals, work scopes, schedules, and budgets.
- Maintaining client liaison to ensure their needs are met.

Requirements

Experience
- Significant experience delivering process engineering design for infrastructure projects, including leading process engineering roles.
- Proven expertise in municipal water industry projects.
- Ability to prepare and review process design deliverables such as technical specifications, calculations, reports, datasheets, schedules, process control philosophies, P&IDs, mass balances, and procurement documentation.
- Experience delivering optioneering studies, feasibility, concept, and detailed designs for municipal clean water treatment solutions including Clarification (bottom hopper), DAF, Rapid Gravity Filtration, Disinfection, Taste & Odour/Pesticides Removal, and Chemical Dosing.
- Previous consultancy or engineering company experience acting as a Process Engineer.
- Exceptional time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparing technical reports and delivering presentations.
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary meetings and acting as a technical representative with clients.
- Ability to work accurately and flexibly, integrating with other disciplines while managing own and team workloads within tight programmes and budgets.
- Willingness and ability to travel to operational works and construction sites safely to assess process performance.

Qualifications
- Degree or MSc in Chemical or Environmental Engineering.
- Professional registration as Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards Chartership within 12 months.
