About the Role
At WSP, you will have the opportunity to contribute to landmark projects and collaborate with leading experts in the field of arboriculture. Join a large, experienced, and friendly Ecology and Arboriculture team involved in diverse projects across multiple sectors for both private and public clients. You will work alongside in-house specialists to deliver commercially balanced, innovative, and integrated solutions. Your role will involve managing several projects concurrently and proactively supporting the team. While knowledge of GIS and CAD is advantageous, it is not essential. Experience with digital data capture devices such as tablets in the field is preferred. The Arboriculture and Forestry team operates across the UK, offering flexibility in location.
Your responsibilities will include site-based surveys, assessments, measurements, inspections, and monitoring in accordance with BS5837:2012 and tree hazard assessments. You will collate and interpret arboricultural information from desk studies, prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, arboricultural impact assessments, and method statements. Liaising with design teams to develop mitigation solutions, data analysis, project management, and supporting both senior and junior team members are key aspects of the role. You will also contribute to NSIP/DCO projects and assist with project pricing for smaller sites. The role requires managing tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards and actively participating in recruitment and mentoring junior colleagues.
