About the Role
What if you could do the kind of work the world needs? At WSP, you can access our global scale, contribute to landmark projects and connect with the brightest minds in your field to do the best work of your life. You can embrace your curiosity in a culture that celebrates new ideas and diverse perspectives. You can experience a world of opportunity and the chance to shape a career as unique as you.
This is an exciting opportunity to take on a pivotal portfolio leadership role within our Water Advisory team. As Portfolio Associate Director, you will help shape the success of a growing and high impact portfolio, with oversight of opportunities and projects owned by Water Advisory, alongside visibility of work delivered by the team in partnership with other disciplines.
You will play a key role in connecting work winning, project delivery, and leadership, helping to bring greater clarity, consistency, and confidence to how opportunities are pursued and how projects are delivered. This role combines strategic oversight with practical leadership, motivated by helping teams deliver great outcomes for clients and communities.
Key responsibilities include strengthening opportunity triage and governance, supporting multidisciplinary bid teams, monitoring performance across live projects, and stepping in early where delivery or commercial risks emerge. You will also create a more transparent view of the portfolio through clear reporting, leadership updates, and high-quality case studies that demonstrate value across the business.
Alongside your portfolio responsibilities, you may provide project management or project director leadership on selected commissions, allowing you to stay close to delivery while influencing the wider direction and performance of the service line.
Your team
You will join our Water Advisory team within Sustainable Water Management and report directly to the Service Line Director. This is a highly visible role with the opportunity to work closely with technical leads, Project Managers, Project Directors, Operations and Commercial teams, as well as wider leadership across the business.
It is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong relationships, improving how things work and helping create the conditions for both project success and sustainable growth. While there are no immediate line management responsibilities, there is scope for this role to help shape and grow capability within a developing service line over time.
