About the Role
The primary purpose of this role is to define, own, and be accountable for all data migration activities within Biffa. With ongoing transformation programmes introducing new SaaS systems, consolidation of legacy platforms, and an active merger & acquisition pipeline, data migration is a top priority for the business. You will define the data migration strategy and standards, overseeing migration plans delivered by internal teams or third parties.
This key technical and design role works across all business divisions and requires finance experience to understand data impacts and support loading into Biffa’s ERP system (D365). You will collaborate closely with the Data Architect and Product Teams (Dayforce & D365) to create reusable migration patterns that enhance and protect data quality before loading into target systems.
The role involves working with business stakeholders to identify data challenges and gaps, developing data cleansing, mapping, and migration tools to accelerate migration processes. You will manage all technical aspects of data extraction, transformation, and loading using established methodologies and toolsets, ensuring alignment with business timelines and standards.

Experience
- Hands-on experience managing large scale data migrations in medium or larger organisations
- Advanced T-SQL programming and performance tuning skills
- Skilled in SSIS or Azure Data Factory for data migration management
- Extensive experience transforming data through integrations
- Experience with project management and workflow tools such as Azure DevOps
- Ability to communicate technical challenges clearly to non-technical colleagues and translate technical findings into financial impact language for finance audiences
- Skills in technical report building tools such as Power BI
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform is preferred

Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and business divisions. Proven leadership skills to manage and develop a team of data migration analysts, ensuring timely delivery and progression.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field. Technical certifications in Azure data platforms are desirable.
