Hours
42 hours per week as standard, Monday to Friday, with regular overtime available. On call rota of 1 day in 10 with a £30 on call allowance plus time and a half overtime if called out.

About the Role
Help us make a real difference as an Environmental & Gas Operative. You will undertake environmental monitoring of various landfill sites, data interpretation and reporting in accordance with site permits. Responsibilities include gas field balancing, maintenance, and gas compound management to maximise power generation. You will have autonomy to manage your own diary and workload with home working supported. A company 4x4 pick up is provided with personal use available.

Your core duties will include undertaking environmental monitoring and reporting, gas field monitoring and maintenance, managing the landfill gas compound, and working closely with landfill operational colleagues. You will supervise contractors working on specific areas related to this role and collect, collate, and prepare data to monitor business performance and identify improvements in collaboration with management. You will also provide out of hours emergency assistance for gas generation issues and carry out reasonable tasks as required by the company.

All duties must be performed in accordance with Health and Safety policies, guidance notes, and training.

Experience
Basic computer literacy is essential. Driving is a large part of the role, with travel to multiple sites in a day. Experience working independently and managing lone working situations is required.

About you
You must be willing and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions. You should be comfortable working alone at some unattended closed sites. Flexibility to occasionally stay away from home is required.

Qualifications
A valid driving licence is essential. Full training and PPE will be provided. A commitment to health and safety and a proactive approach to learning and development are important.
