About the Role
As part of the onsite engineering team, you will contribute to the internal and external preventative, reactive, and corrective maintenance of plant equipment. The team’s goal is to continuously improve machine reliability, availability, and capacity to manufacturing standards. You will work to increase site operational effectiveness, improve project delivery, extend mean time between failure, reduce downtime, and manage and implement improvement plans. Driving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) while ensuring Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements are met is central to this role.
Safety is at the heart of everything we do. You will liaise with the SHEQ team to resolve health & safety, environmental, internal audits, GMP, COSHH, and ISO quality issues. You will ensure all compliance checks are completed and correctly filed, maintaining full compliance with UK regulations and global manufacturing standards.
Your key responsibilities include providing both reactive and proactive, highly skilled maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure; liaising with external contractors for reactive maintenance and scheduling planned service maintenance; requesting and checking RAMS, inducting personnel, providing permits to work, and overseeing contractor works onsite to ensure safety; following and completing planned maintenance (PMs, RMs & CMs) via a Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and overseeing adherence and timely completion of work; actively participating in projects, continuous improvement, and modern manufacturing principles by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices, and processes; and assisting in the administration of the CMMS (Frontline) to ensure accuracy at all times, with Frontline used for all maintenance and stock activities.

Requirements

Experience
Proven experience providing reactive and proactive maintenance services on operational equipment and facilities infrastructure. Familiarity with continuous improvement (CI) principles. Experience liaising with contractors and managing planned maintenance schedules. Previous health and safety training is required (does not need to be in date but proof of experience is essential).

About you
You are safety conscious with a strong commitment to Health, Safety, and Environmental standards. You have excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with internal teams and external contractors. You are proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively within a shift pattern. You embrace continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principles, with a focus on reliability and operational effectiveness.

Qualifications
NVQ Level 3 Electrical/Electronic Engineering is essential. Knowledge of BS7671 18th edition is advantageous. Experience with Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), preferably Frontline, is desirable.
