38 Hours per week, Monday - Friday, 7:30 am – 3:36 pm plus standby rota payments & overtime opportunities.
Salary
Up to £42,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
About the Role
We have a great opportunity for a career-minded individual to join our Northeast Water Productions Area team as an Electrical Technician. You will use your electrical knowledge and experience to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify, or repair mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment in a safe, efficient, timely, and effective manner with minimum supervision. This role allows you to make a real difference to Thames Water's environmental impact by actively helping to reduce pollution from our sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of yourself, colleagues, contractors, and visitors by complying with Health and Safety regulations and Thames Water’s guidelines.
- Undertake both reactive and planned maintenance, responding to alarms and fault finding to identify issues, fixing these or escalating as necessary.
- Record work and asset information to improve business performance, identifying possible future risks and recommending changes.
- Provide specialist technical advice and coach, train, and develop staff under your supervision, including the apprenticeship programme.
- Deliver an excellent customer experience and positively contribute to overall customer satisfaction.
Experience
You should be a time-served apprentice with significant experience in electrical systems or possess NVQ or C&G level 3 in electrical engineering.
About You
- 18th Edition preferred, but training can be given.
- A problem solver, able to identify potential issues and implement solutions or escalate if required.
- An excellent communicator, providing technical expertise to internal and external staff and contractors.
- Resilient, adapting to the pressures of work in a constantly changing environment.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and under your own initiative.
- Knowledge and awareness of Health and Safety issues relevant to the industry.
- Team player who can work in various teams, showing respect for others and supporting their development.
