Full Time - Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week, with opportunities for overtime
Salary
£29,000 to £37,440 per annum, depending on skills and experience
About the Role
We are seeking a full-time, permanent Project Support Technician to support the mains upgrade programme within Thames Valley. This site-based role involves undertaking operational tasks, resolving customer issues, and carrying out network valve activities with minimal disruption to water supplies. You will investigate network issues including pressure abnormalities, leakage queries, metering concerns, and supply interruptions. You will liaise with stakeholders to ensure efficient project delivery while upholding Thames Water values and behaviours. Additional responsibilities include supporting Pressure Management Maintenance teams, assisting with checking key High Consequence and High-Risk Valves to maintain compliance, and promoting health and safety by modelling best practices and identifying improvements. This front-line position is vital to the continued success of our business and requires commitment and skill to deliver results in a dynamic environment.
Experience
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a highly organised team
- Experience working in all weather conditions and tackling a range of challenges is advantageous
About you
- Full UK driving licence, as the role involves travelling between multiple sites with a company van and equipment provided
- Adaptable with a positive, can-do attitude
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders
- Commitment to health and safety and best practice standards
Qualifications
- It would be beneficial to have knowledge of the clean water network and an understanding of domestic plumbing, water mains, and leakage detection
- Water industry qualifications or certifications covering Water Hygiene, NRSWA unit 2, disinfection, sampling, flushing, valve operations, and/or CALM First Aid Training are advantageous
- Understanding of the Permit to Work system is desirable
