About the Role
Scarborough Transit Connect (STC) is a joint venture between Aecon and FCC Canada Ltd. selected by Metrolinx to deliver the Scarborough Subway Extension – Stations, Rail and Systems (SSE-SRS) package. This project extends the TTC’s Line 2 subway service nearly eight kilometers into Scarborough, replacing Line 3 and improving transit access across the city.
We are seeking an Environmental Management System (EMS) Compliance Coordinator to assist the Environmental Director with the development, implementation, maintenance, and updating of the EMS in accordance with ISO 14001 and project requirements. You will ensure EMS documentation is accurate and up to date, coordinate with site environmental inspectors, and manage EMS software tools for training, supplier management, and inspections.
Key responsibilities include preparing annual Management Reviews, consolidating environmental data, performing EMS data analysis and visualization, creating dashboards, preparing internal communications, delivering EMS training, conducting spot checks, supporting audits, tracking environmental KPIs, and assisting with sustainability reporting and environmental budget management.
This role requires collaboration with multiple teams and may include secondment of Compliance Officer duties as needed. You will contribute to one of Toronto’s most significant transit projects while supporting environmental compliance and continuous improvement.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years in the environmental industry
- Experience implementing and auditing Environmental Management Systems (EMS) under ISO 14001
- Proficiency in data management tools and analysis
- Understanding of environmental regulations and best practices in Ontario
- Experience with major transit projects is an asset
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Valid Ontario driver’s license (Class G) required

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Environmental Science, Civil Engineering with environmental background, or a related discipline
