Salary
$95 - $100 per hour (per current Collective Agreement). Individual pay is determined based on factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.

Aecon Utilities specializes in utility infrastructure, providing safe, reliable, and innovative solutions in electrical, telecommunications, pipeline distribution, and renewable energy markets. Reporting to the Superintendent, the Foreperson will provide leadership and expert knowledge in construction electrical matters to ensure project requirements are met safely, on time, and within budget.
Key responsibilities include scheduling, coordinating, and supervising site operatives; managing equipment and materials; ensuring compliance with safety and occupational health regulations; conducting risk assessments and toolbox talks; maintaining training records; overseeing documentation and daily work production; and ensuring all electrical installations comply with applicable regulations and trade practices. The role requires travel to remote locations, working at heights, and operating heavy equipment and cranes.
The Foreperson will lead by example, foster open communication, promote an inclusive culture, and actively participate in coordinating crew tasks to drive team success and career progression.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years in utility and powerline construction.
- Proven ability to oversee large-scale projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience in electrical commercial construction and maintenance.
- Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Qualifications
- Journeyman Powerline Technician or Electrician certification.
- Industry-related safety certifications.
- Knowledge of construction technology, equipment, methods, trade agreements, jurisdiction, engineering, cost control, scheduling, and safety requirements.
- Ability to interpret electrical code with a high level of mathematical aptitude.
