Hours
21 days on, 7 days off shift schedule, out of town

Salary
$80 - $85 per hour, per current Collective Agreement. Individual pay is determined based on work location, education, experience, and unique skills.

About the Role
Join Aecon, a leading North American utility infrastructure provider, delivering safe, reliable, and innovative solutions across electrical, telecommunications, pipeline distribution, and renewable energy markets. As a Journeyperson, Substations, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining overhead, underground, transmission, and distribution systems. You will perform line maintenance using de-energized, live line hot stick, or live line barehand techniques on voltages up to and including 500KV. Safe operation of heavy and tracked equipment such as Radial Arm Diggers, Line Trucks, Cranes, and all-terrain equipment (Foremost) is required. You will operate and maintain hand tools including blocks, grips, jacks, hot line tools, and cover up equipment. Reading and interpreting blueprints or process specifications will be part of your daily tasks. You will instruct and train junior personnel in duties, safe work practices, and proper use of tools and equipment. Maintaining personal and group safety at all times, exercising caution when working with tension for rigging or near energized equipment, and responding to unscheduled outages caused by weather, component failures, or accidents are key responsibilities. You will contribute positively as a team member through open communication and active participation in crew tasks while ensuring compliance with Aecon Health & Safety and Environmental Manual. Requirements

Experience
- Journeyman Power Lineperson or Electrician Apprenticeship and Trade Certificate
- Minimum 2 years utility experience constructing, installing, and maintaining overhead, underground, transmission, and distribution systems
- Thorough knowledge of Provincial Electrical Utilities Regulations and provincial Occupational Health and Safety Acts, Regulations, and Codes
- Ability to climb towers and poles, work at heights, and endure extreme weather conditions for extended periods

About you
- Demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively on teams with a strong customer service focus
- Ability to interpret drawings, develop and interpret work instructions, and plan projects for self and others
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal, team participation, and communication skills
- Valid Driver’s License

Qualifications
- Journeyman Power Lineperson or Electrician Apprenticeship and Trade Certificate required
- Commitment to safety and adherence to company policies and procedures
