Reporting to the General Manager, Renewables, the Substations Superintendent is responsible for ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within contract and cost estimates, and to high safety and quality standards. You will manage day-to-day operations at project sites and yards, coordinating administration, scheduling, and construction functions.
Key responsibilities include overall project planning and scheduling, monitoring progress and taking corrective action, maintaining communication with stakeholders and subcontractors, managing contracts and change orders, implementing safety, environmental, and quality control policies, ensuring compliance with legislative and union requirements, directing project staff morale and communication, reviewing project cost reports, assisting in bid processes, and performing other duties as required.

Experience
- Minimum ten years of substation maintenance and construction experience
- Experience in power distribution and transmission line work is an asset
- Experience in the Utility Contracting Industry is an asset
- Working proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Sound knowledge of transmission construction techniques, practices, and fundamentals
- Experience with contract and subcontract management
- Strong understanding of labor and union relations
- Strong understanding of change management
- Ability to read and interpret master schedules and build 4-week look ahead scheduling activities
- Daily progress reporting experience
