About the Role

We are seeking experienced flood forecast modellers and hydrologists at all levels to help deliver and grow our national programme of real-time modelling projects. You will work alongside fluvial and pluvial specialists, hydrologists, and modellers across the UK and internationally, contributing to flood warning improvements, strengthening national resilience, and supporting major infrastructure, government, and water sector clients.
This role offers varied and meaningful work including delivering and leading flood forecast modelling and hydrology studies using tools such as Flood Modeller, PDM, and hydrodynamic routing. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing model boundaries, undertaking rating reviews, completing performance testing, quality assurance, and independent technical reviews of forecast products. You will produce clear, high-quality client and public-facing deliverables, contribute to data visualisation, support service development, mentor junior colleagues, lead bid proposals, manage project delivery, and collaborate with UK and international teams. A safety-first approach aligned with WSP policies is essential.
WSP offers a dynamic and supportive environment with real career progression, encouraging innovation and leadership development. You will be part of a national fluvial and pluvial modelling team delivering flood modelling to support flood warning improvements, FCERM studies, and strategic infrastructure projects across multiple sectors including energy, transport, government, and water.
